7 habits of highly effective people list – Before I start to explain how to remember seven habits with just 10 – 15 minutes easily, you can check our “7 habits of highly effective people summary” for understanding the meaning every habit that mentioned in Stephen R. Covey’s book.
Now, how to remember seven habits within 10 minutes? I will tell you about one method to easily remember things, and that is the alpha list. What is the alpha list? It is the list from Power Brain, using basic association to associate the number and the random objects.
You can use the alpha list to remember anything with many lists that need to be memorized up to 10 things. We are using:
Because we only have seven points on seven habits, we will use the Alpha list only one until seven. Let’s start to associate between the Alpha list and the seven habits from Stephen R. Covey’s book.
7 habits of highly effective people list – Do you know about Alpha? Alpha is a 2018 historical adventure film as a young hunter during the ice age. If you want to have an imagination about Alpha, then you can remember it from the Alpha film, a man with a wolf that is living in the ice age.
How to remember the first habit, “Be Proactive,” with our first list? Let’s try to create imaginations. Remember, if you want to remember easily, you need to have imaginations that have: emotions, exaggerations, and illogical.
For example, I will imagine Alpha is a man who is very proactive and energic. He is the leader of the wolf tribe. He speaks loud and have a strong voice. Alpha is commanding his tribe to climb the mountain with bare hands.
When you want to remember the first habit, “be proactive,” you will remember Alpha, who is very proactive and commanding his tribe to the mountain.
The second habit is, “Begin with the end in mind.” How can you combine the shoes with the habit? Remember about illogical, emotions, or exaggerations. I will use an imagination about shoes that you’re wearing, and there is a brain on the edge of the shoes.
When you feel it’s weird and makes no sense, that’s how the method will work. Our brain will easily remember things that are illogical and don’t make sense at all. Whenever you want to remember the second habit, you will remember shoes with the brain on edge.
Let’s go to the next habit, “put first things first.” Combine turkey with the habit. If you have trouble finding images about turkey and connecting the images with the point of the habit, you can use any object that can support the images between turkey and the point of the habit.
For example, try to imagine a Giant with 20 feet height came to your city. And the giant wants to eat a turkey as his first meal. He doesn’t want to eat other foods except the turkey.
As you see, you can remember the word “first” and the “turkey,” which means it can be related to “put first things first.”
The next habit is a “win-win solution.” Do you know clover? Clover is very popular with four leaves and is nicknamed the luck leaf. Then try to imagine clover and combine it with fortune, gold, or money.
Let’s say, if you want to remember habits number four, you will remember that you have a garden with so many clovers. Every time you are watering the clover leaves, gold will fall in large quantities. The benefit is for the both sides, you get golds, and clover gets water.
You can use Patrick (Spongebob’s friend) or just seastar in the sea. Imagine that Patrick has a job as a consultant. His work is listening to other people’s problems and issues, and he will give his story after he is finishing to solving his customer’s problem.
We know Patrick from Spongebob because he is iconic, and doesn’t have a job, so our brain will easily remember about Patrick to be the list for the fifth habit.
How about number one until number five? It’s easy to remember the habit and images. Now let’s go to the habit number six “synergize.” The point about habit number six has the same vision with the team, and go forward to the goal together.
I can use imagination like “Dice-man” and a lot of dice-man working together to build Eifel tower. I used illogical and combine it with the point of the habit.
Do you know about seven dwarves from snow white? I use that to make it easier to create images. You can make your imagination to remember “sharpen the saw” and interpret it literally. The image will be dwarves together, sharpening the saw and cut the tree together.
Or you can use the point of the habit, which is learning new skills. You can imagine seven dwarves are learning different skills, and they want to mastering seven skills within a short time.
